What is the difference between 1U and 2U rack server?
Different sizes:
1U server: server height is 4.445 cm
2U server: server height is 4.445*2=8.89 cm
The number of hard disks and slots is different:
The maximum number of hard disks in a 1U server is 4, and the maximum number of PCI slots is 2. The maximum number of hard disks in a 2U server is 8, and the number of PCI slots can be up to 6.
The summary is as follows:
1U servers are small in size, use space first, cost-effective, and low hosting costs
2U servers have large expansion space and better heat dissipation. The system stability is better, and when used for hosting, its cost is significantly higher than that of 1U servers.
